As our bodies perspire in the heat, we excrete important minerals (sometimes referred to as
electrolytes) and unless we replace them we can start to feel weak and lethargic, in some
extreme instances long distance runners have been known to literally ‘drop down dead’ as the
heart has been totally depleted of the essential nutrients it needs.
People who exercise often (especially runners) not only need to hydrate themselves with water
but water alone isn’t good enough – it needs to contain minerals, but importantly minerals that
have an ‘electric charge’ ie plant derived minerals.
