Complementary health for survivors of Grenfell

So it’s been six months since the Grenfell Tower Fire in June where at least 71 people tragically perished. The investigations and legal activity continue and at the same time Jane Lawson has set up a new team of complementary therapists called Complementary Support Teams UK (Therapists) which I have had the privilege of joining recently. This weekend I was at The Curve Community Centre located in the shadow of the blackened tower providing free complementary health therapies such as massage, Rahanni Celestial Healing, and Eden Energy Medicine. The survivors showed such gratitude it brought tears to my eyes as I was only too glad to help. I also helped stressed staff working at the centre when I had some spare slots. Here is Carmaine Walker, a child activity worker, relaxed after her session.

The survivors all have sleep deprivation – waking up in the middle of the night, night after night, survivor guilt, panic attacks, nightmares, depression and anxiety, pain in their shoulders as if they carry the weight of the world, pains in their knees, respiratory problems, shattered nerves and so the list goes on……..

In the midst of all this the survivors I saw are all still living in temporary accommodation with no indication of when they will be permanently re-homed. Most ate a reasonable diet before, now they are located in strange areas where they eat mostly fast food, have gained weight, feel lethargic and rarely exercise. The policies they are governed by sometimes change on a weekly or even more regular basis. Some lived in nearby towers which shared the same boiler as Grenfell and which still has to be replaced before they can move back in. They are not sure when that will happen.

There are activities being offered by other groups such as yoga, drama, balloon making – thanks Magic Liz – a kids camp but the atmosphere feels loaded with tension, sadness and powerlessness.

Today film director Steve McQueen will be filming the tower from a helicopter for a future non-commercial project where the film will be shown in a museum to stand as memory of the tragedy that was allowed to happen. And should never be allowed to happen again.

Lupton House’s incredible Christmas craft fayre

It was the fifth year of Lupton House’s incredible Christmas craft fayre which is now so popular that on one day the car park was jammed full and some visitors had to be turned away. I sold many signed copies of my children’s picture book ‘Donna and Dermot on the Move’ and illustrated by Jamie-Leigh O’Neill. I am so happy that they will light up a child’s Christmas. I also sold some soft toys of the characters – limited edition and handmade by the talented Beck Tallamy of Tall Amy Bags.

Speechless to receive Health Hero Award

I am completely lost for words – which doesn’t happen that often.  Total Wellness Club, which is a platform for therapists to be reviewed by clients – a bit like Trip Advisor – has just announced that I am the winner of their annual Health Hero Awards. This is in the Therapist category.

I want to thank Total Wellness Club founders Neil and Jo Fellowes for their vision for the wellness sector, their support for therapists and other health and wellness professionals and their all consuming passion.

As a therapist I feel that I am just hitting my stride so this is so unexpected. Thank you also to all the clients who took the time to review me.

Reading to Syrian Refugees in South Devon

I recently read my children’s picture book ‘Donna and Dermot on the Move’ to Syrian refugee children living in South Devon. Some had only been here for  year and as the book is about the upheaval of moving, they could really relate to it. The book’s message is about living in the now as the best way to appreciate what you have rather than feeling anxious or depressed by thinking about the future or past.

The children created some striking artwork later, based on the book. Thanks to Integr8 for making this possible.

Rahanni taster sessions

Here’s me giving a Rahanni healing taster session at a recent wellness fayre. Rahanni means ‘Of One Heart’ and balances the male and female aspects in each of us, as well as releasing fear and negativity, so allowing us to feel more love and compassion towards ourselves and others. I offer free distant healing in Rahanni. Contact me to find out more.

Free Rahanni distant healing

I offer FREE Rahanni distant healing. Just let me know the name of the person who needs healing, where they live and the condition it is for.

What is Rahanni Celestial Healing?

What is Rahanni Celestial Healing?‘Rahanni’ means, ‘of one heart’. There is no separation, we are from one divine energy source.‘

Rahanni helps:

– Balance the masculine and feminine aspects of every man, woman and child.

– It is possible to release our fears and any negative energy that we accumulate from our experiences on this earth.

– It will help us with communication and to gain control over our lives.

The vibration of Earth had to be raised for the energy to be sustained, this has now happened, moving from the 4th to the 5th dimension of reality.

Carol Stacey, the founder of Rahanni, was presented with the gift of Rahanni by the ‘higher beings’ of light to bring this beautiful healing modality through to humanity at this critical time in our existence.

Rahanni is not based on one religion, it is our natural essence. Bringing balance to our mind and body.

Why is Rahanni different?

The difference is the vibration. Rahanni works on a higher level therefore healing in a much deeper way.

It vibrates on a pink ray of light, balancing the heart centre bringing forth love and compassion to each individual soul.

It is simplicity itself and can be taught in one day.The student is attuned to the celestial energies raising their vibration allowing them to become a channel for this wonderful healing light.

Although it is thousands of years old it is a ‘new’ healing for the ‘Age of Aquarius’.

Bringing truth, love and compassion, helping to change the consciousness and opening the hearts of every man, woman and child.

This will help to bring inner peace to the mind and a possible healing to the physical body.

Who can Benefit?

Everyone! Especially children. They are open to these higher energies. It has been known to benefit those children diagnosed with hyperactivity and A.D.D.

The client’s body will decide how much of the healing light is required.

It is understood healing of the physical body can be felt along with a possible balancing of the mental and emotional issues.

You do not have to believe for it to work, just a desire to receive and accept the energy.

Animals will also benefit, they have no problem accepting the healing light.

Rahanni needs to be experienced to be appreciated. If you are stress free, balanced and happy then you are strong enough to help others. Many people find their attitudes to life and its problems change for the better as a result of receiving Rahanni Celestial Healing. Why not give it a try?

Pet Life complete

The product is Simply Naturals Pet Life Complete, providing your furry friend with the essential nutrients and minerals it needs.

Just have to give the success story of my dog!

She’s 12yrs and has been getting progressively arthritic for the past 2 yrs and had somewhat been slowing down – that was until 2.5 weeks ago when I started her on the powdered minerals.

The changes must have been so gradual that I didn’t notice till about 2 to 3 days ago when suddenly I noticed a significant difference in her; very bouncy with a great energy emanating from her, more interested and interactive, happier, coat feeling silky, an amazing difference in movement and getting up, but what’s amazed me more than anything is her sudden ability to jump into the back of my 4×4 which she’s struggled with the past year or so and I normally have to support her, it’s so wonderful to see her so happy!

Thank you Simply! Joanna Angell

Benefits of lavender essential oil

Lavender is one of the top essential oils to stock in your medicine cabinet at home. It is antibacterial and rejuvenating.

It’s proven to be highly effective for use on the skin – for burns, scars, cuts, bug bites and bee stings. I heard a story of someone who used it on third degree burns on the arms and was left with no scarring.

I have used it on my child who has eczema with good results. It can also be used for acne.

It’s powerful for calming the mind and body and for relieving anxiety, overcoming insomnia and improving sleep and mood.

You can mix 20 drops of lavendar oil with a cup of Epsom Salts for a relaxing bath.

I use essential oils when I massage clients so they feel the benefits.

Amazing testimonial

This is why being a Sizzling Minerals distributor is so worthwhile:
The Benefits of Sizzling Minerals
I am 37 years old. From birth I have suffered from a Bicuspid aortic valve and therefore as a young child I had to undergo yearly to three yearly hospital admissions and lots of tests. Now at this age I still need antibiotics when I undergo serious dental treatments or am seriously injured.
Just a year ago when I went for my normal checkup, my cardiologist told me that there had been some changes in my aortic root which had dilated to 4.9 cms. If the dilation grew to 5.5 cms I would have to consider a very risky surgery.
I dislike any kind of surgery and since I have been taking Sizzling Minerals and had another test done a week ago, I can tell you that my aortic root is down to a healthy 4.4 cms. S van den Heerik, Bournemouth

Libraries Week and reading in Newton Abbot

This week is Libraries Week – a chance to celebrate all that libraries mean to us. For me a library is not only a place for discovering new authors but it’s also where I can use the computer for no charge, buy a cup of tea and hear writers read their new books.

I shall be reading at Newton Abbot library this coming Saturday (14th) as my first children’s picture book has just been published. It’s called ‘Donna and Dermot on the Move’ and captures the story of a girl and her dog and what happens when they move house. The theme is mindfulness.

I am really looking forward to being part of the library’s Active Mind, Active Life annual programme of activities.  Active Life Active Mind is a celebration of all the things libraries do to support health and wellbeing across Devon.

There are so many things going on – relaxation and yoga, craft groups, art clubs, coffee mornings, Scrabble challenges and free drop in advice sessions to name but a few. Check out what’s happening in your local library. The programme continues throughout November.

Runner Up in the 2017 Centre of Excellence Awards

I have just found out I have been awarded the Runner Up award in the Inspiration Category in this year’s Centre of Excellence Awards – wow!

I studied naturopathic nutrition with the Centre and this has changed the lives of myself, my friends and family and my clients in deep ways.

This is the feedback I received from the Centre of Excellence:

“Thank you for taking part in the 2017 Centre of Excellence Awards

There were some very high standards set this year with hundreds of entries to the awards making it very difficult for us to choose our winners, so much so that the judges also wanted to recognise those who still stood out from the crowd in a Runners Up Category.

We are so proud to announce that you, Hilda, came Runner Up in the Centre of Excellence Awards 2017.

The judges chose a small selection of entries that came so close to winning when it was such a hard decision, that we thought we have to give them the recognition that they deserve, and you were chosen as one of our runner ups, so a HUGE Well Done.

You have shown real guts, determination and are an inspiration to the whole team at the Centre of Excellence, so we wanted to recognise your talents.

We are truly proud of the talent that you have shown. You are a huge inspiration to others and we would like to say a huge thank you for taking part in our awards!”
